Cartridge Technologies' Vice President and technology director Jeremy Shulman recently received this letter from the State of Alaska, Department of Health & Social Services, which uses Cartridge Technologies MICR toner cartridges to print WIC warrants and food stamp coupons at multiple, and frequently remote, locations across that state.....
"March 10, 2008
In October of 2007, the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services deployed approximately 45 new HP 3005 printers throughout the state to 20+ grantee agencies in our Women, Infant and Children ("WIC") program. Cartridge Technologies MICR printer cartridges were deployed along with the new printers. Several weeks after the deployment, two or three of our WIC agencies began experiencing printing problems with the quality of print on the warrants and our technicians were having difficulty diagnosing the cause of the printing problems.
I contacted your company immediately to see if you could give us some assistance in troubleshooting & diagnosing the problems. Generating WIC warrants to needy families is a very time-sensitive, critical process and we were under a great deal of pressure to resolve the problems as quickly as possible.
Cartridge Technologies engineers were very quick to respond and worked closely with our technicians to understand and troubleshoot the issues. Within a matter of days a potential resolution was implemented— based on your engineer’s advice — and to date, we have not experienced further issues with our warrant printers or your MICR cartridges. While the solution seemed very simple (ensuring that the printers were plugged directly into the wall rather than into a power strip) it was not a typical or obvious fix. I’m quite certain that my technicians would not have known to try this particular fix without the troubleshooting knowledge and assistance from your engineers.
Six months later, all of our WIC clinics are generating warrants troub1e-free, using Cartridge
Technologies MICR cartridges. I’d like to thank you & your engineers for your prompt, efficient assistance. We would be happy to recommend Cartridge Technologies cartridges to any of your clients.
Thank you again.
Sincerely,
KathleenWe
